We are a community of diverse creative specialists that work in literary, artistic, and project management roles. Every project is unique. The process and team are tailored to the project’s needs, timeline, and budget. We have a diverse pool of talent from which to draw. Each professional works independently but is supported by a project manager. The project manager ensures that design, development, and production are efficient and communication is frequent and clear. The manager also performs final quality checks and keeps versions of your work organized (configuration control). The following people are the core of Slickrock Press, LLC: Sue Kemner-Richardson—Founder and Project Manager will manage the completion your project. Sue has been a multimedia project manager for research organizations (University Corporation for Atmospheric Research and Denver Research Institute) and large corporations (Boeing, StorageTek/Sun, Control Data Corporation) since 1977. She is educated as an instructional designer and educational psychologist. She has published diverse artistic and poetry projects over the last several years and has managed the design and development of educational websites. Sue listens deeply to clients and communicates skillfully. She is a poet and a devotee of beautiful materials, fonts, and the printing and binding processes. Working with Sue, your creative work will be produced with materials that deftly align with the power of your intent and that stay within your budget. She will also ensure that your book has all the administrative requirements recognized by bookstores and the publishing industry. Your publication will have its unique ISBN and Library of Congress control numbers as well as a barcode that is required if you are publishing a book for distribution. Julee Syverson—Art Director has over 30 years of artistic production experience. Julee will perform all tasks related to your book design, cover design and production, and any unique art required. She began as an illustrator then as a book and page designer. As technology has changed, Julee has kept current with all the latest software for graphics, photographs, websites, and book design and production. She has managed graphics and art production departments in large corporations (Memorex and Boeing), research organizations (Stanford Research Institute and the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research), and government agencies (state and county agencies in Oregon). Julee maintains a private practice of artistic consultation, design, and production. Julee’s diverse work can be seen at www.syversondesign.com Max Regan—Writing coach and teacher has worked for 15 years in colleges and universities; with writing guilds in Houston, Baltimore, and Boulder; and with a diverse array of private clients. He leads small groups, writing retreats and two-week writing journeys to the city of Prague, the island of St. John, and Australia/Tasmania. Max is the Founder of Hollowdeck Press, and his most recent book, Take, was published in 2005. Max will work with you to finish, review, or polish your manuscript. He has a unique style combining vast coaching experience and skill as a content editor with humor, compassion, and respect for each of his clients. She is co-editor of the anthology Civil Disobediences: Poetics and Politics in Action, and has published several volumes of poetry. Lisa works with Slickrock Press as a content editor, copyeditor, and proofreader. She will work with you to make sure that your project maintains its artistic integrity, while also considering standard forms and grammatical conventions.
